​South Brittany Cottages offers four carefully restored holiday cottages and barns to rent. 
The gites are situated around the private courtyard "La Cour" in a rural hamlet surrounded by beautiful Brittany countryside just 1 km from the local village of Masserac. ​
​Discover the rivers, the vast meadows, the flora and the fauna offering you freedom and escape whilst being perfect for reaching all the beaches and attractions this beautiful region has to offer.

The Cottages and Barns

La Cour is the perfect place to relax and forget everything!

La Cour has been established since 1997 and nestled on the border of Southern Brittany & the Loire Atlantique (the coastal area of the Loire Valley), the gites offer the perfect base for.....walking, cycling, fishing, photography, painting, reading, playing games.....or just sitting and enjoying the garden where wildlife comes to visit and the lack of light pollution offers up huge night skies.

The Local Area

Begin your day by taking a gentle 10 minute stroll to the local village of Masserac where you will find the boulangerie to buy your fresh bread and croissants for breakfast. The village also offers a cafe bar and a grocery shop. Just 10 minutes away from the gites at La Cour are the lively towns of Redon and Guemene-Penfao where you will find supermarkets, outdoor/indoor swimming pools, canoe hire for paddling along the River Don, pony trekking and a good selection of restaurants.  

​There are several wonderful swimming lakes with beaches (always a hit with children) within 15 minutes of La Cour or if you prefer the coast the stunning beaches of South West Brittany are within easy reach.​
We offer a large range of bicycles from child to adult sizes for cycling around this beautiful area of Brittany. For the younger members of the family there are also child seats and child trailers available. Perfect for exploring the area together as a family, all available to use free of charge.

A perfect place to soak up the French culture and sample the local Breton delicacies are the many markets around the area surrounding our gites. Situated between the beautiful cities of Vannes, Nantes and Rennes there are also many other historic towns to discover.

For the more energetic, this area of Southern Brittany is a walking and cycling paradise, there is also plenty of opportunity to fish or play a round of golf. For families there are many fun attraction parks, animal parks and aquariums. The wonderful situation of the gites on the border of Southern Brittany and the Loire Atlantique, will allow you to easily discover many attractions or just relax and enjoy the rural tranquility.

​We have four very inquisitive (and often naughty) pygmy goats who are always pleased to meet new people. If children (or indeed adults!) want to come and meet them and offer them a snack ....they love brambles and oak leaves...please feel free.
